The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) has confirmed that what was circulated on the social media websites, about the postponement of the second term of the academic year 2020/2019, were mere rumors and false news.
The Ministry affirms that there is no intention to postpone the second term at all.
The second term is going to start according to the schedule which was announced in the timeline map for the academic year 2019/2020.So the coming term starts next Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The Ministry made clear that the level of readiness at the Central Committee for Epidemiological Surveillance in the Supreme Council of University Hospitals has been raised to the maximum degree.
Experts ensure the activation of the Council’s plan for epidemiological surveillance, the follow-up of all patients of university hospitals including the faculty members, students, and citizens.
The ministry added that it coordinates with the Preventive Medicine Sector in the Ministry of Health and Population in order to maintain the health and safety of the students.

The Ministry calls on users of the social media websites to investigate accuracy and objectivity when they disseminate news.
Those users should communicating with the concerned bodies in the ministry to ensure before publishing information that is not based on facts and that leads to confusion among citizens.
