PM Mostafa Madbouly witnessed Tuesday the announcement by the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), in coordination and cooperation with the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), of the launch of the E-tabadul digital platform.
The Prime Minister stressed, in a statement, that promoting and introducing this platform is the important matter, as well as the necessity of full direct coordination with the Federation of Industries, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Investment Zones and others, with the aim of maximizing the number of subscribers to this platform.
Madbouly said: “I met a number of manufacturers who confirmed that they were forced at times to import production supplies, and they discovered that they were made here in Egypt. Therefore, this platform is very important, and the whole country will benefit from it.”
Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, suggested adding untapped capacities in factories, because it would also add a lot and benefit manufacturers.
Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, stated that the E-tabadul platform launched by the Authority aims to achieve “industrial networking” among the Authority’s success partners; Factories and projects established within the Authority's economic zone include each other.
He explained that the platform is based on two axes: the first aims to provide the local production requirements necessary for the manufacturing process, and the second axis is to work on promoting intermediate and final products produced locally within the economic zone, in order to achieve the state’s vision aimed at localizing the industry, replacing imports, and promoting exports; especially of the final products that add value to Egyptian exports to various markets, and playing an active role in supporting global supply chains, especially in light of the current challenges regionally, which provide great opportunities and increasing demand for products in various sectors.
Gamal Al-Din added that the Economic Zone carried out fruitful cooperation and coordination with the Administrative Control Authority in order to launch this platform in record time in implementation of the directives of the political leadership in this regard, in addition to the Authority communicating with a number of concerned parties in the industrial sector in the country to circulate the platform’s services in order to cover various sectors. Manufacturers and industrial activities across the Republic, pointing out the integration of manufacturing chains that this achieves, supports Egyptian products, and enhances their competitiveness in global markets.
It should be noted that this step is consistent with the SCZone’s permanent trend towards digital transformation and the use of the latest technological applications in providing various services to investors, as it has developed one-stop services provided to investors, with the aim of reducing the time for implementing procedures and obtaining the necessary licenses for companies in the Authority, within the framework of... Its strategic vision for the empowerment phase 2020-2025.
