The Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Walid Gamal El-Din discussed ways of joint cooperation in industrial and commercial fields during his meeting with a U.S. delegation.
The economic zone stated in a statement, Friday, that the delegation included Scott Bozell, Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs, Harry Krez, Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Office at the United States Agency for International Development in Egypt, and a number of economic officials from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo..
During the meeting, Gamal El-Din reviewed the capabilities of the economic zone, including 4 industrial zones and 6 seaports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas.
He also reviewd the Egyptian state's vision in maximizing the zone's potential by equipping it with the latest infrastructure, in addition to the strategy of integration between ports and industrial and logistics zones, which provided a model for supporting supply chains and the movement of trade and industry, making the zone a hub for fuel industries, in addition to the strategic location and readiness of seaports that enabled it to provide ship supply services with fossil fuels and green fuels.
He also touched on the targeted sectors, which amounted to 21 industrial and service sectors, such as food, pharmaceutical and automotive industries.
