The president of the Ittihad Jeddah Anmaar El Haaeli addressed last season's rumors about signing with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
El Haaeli criticized the attitude of the Saudi Public Investment Fund with the requests of the club to sign international stars like the rest of the clubs, adding that some of the Ittihad opponents signed with 8 international stars, while the Jeddah-based club signed with 4 only.
He added that Al Hilal and Al Nassr targeted football megastars, which means that Ittihad should follow the same approach. However, each club has its own budget, and the administration of Ittihad attempted to make the move according to the budget.
The President of the Jeddah-based club asserted that a lot of the demands of the club were not approved.
Regarding the failure of signing with Salah, El Haaeli highlighted that the club won't reject any megastar recommended to the club, but the statements of the Saudi Public Investment Fund's concerned official, Saied El Lazez, with the football clubs were not clear.
He added that he hoped that El Lazez clarify what happened with the Ittihad demands during the summer transfer window, including Salah's signing failure.
