The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the kingdom has announced that reservations are now open for those wishing to undertake Umrah or a shorter pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia during the Islamic month of Shawwal, which comes after Ramadan.

The Nusuk app is used to make reservations, the government added.

The ministry posted on Twitter, "Hurry to book your appointment via the Nusuk app to ensure smooth and comfortable Umrah ceremonies.

Muslims can use the nusuk.sa portal to electronically book associated travel arrangements and receive the appropriate visas and permits in order to perform Umrah or visit Saudi Arabia's holy sites.

Millions of Muslims travel to Saudi Arabia to do Umrah because they are physically or financially unable to participate in the yearly Hajj rites.

The monarchy has recently unveiled a variety of facilities for Muslims who want to travel there to do Umrah.

After scheduling an e-appointment, Muslims with various entry visas, such as the personal, visit, and tourism visas, are permitted to do Umrah and visit Al Rawda Al Sharifa, where the Prophet Mohammad's (peace be upon him) tomb is situated, at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.

The Umrah visa has also been extended by the Saudi government from 30 to 90 days, and holders are now able to enter the country via all land, air, and sea ports as well as depart from any airport.

Saudi Arabia has stated that as part of the facilities, its nationals can apply for visas inviting their friends from overseas to travel to the country and perform Umrah.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia has issued a stopover transit visa that permits the holder to conduct Umrah, visit the Mosque of the Prophet, and participate in a variety of events held throughout the kingdom.

The transit visa for four days is valid for ninety days.

The kingdom has also declared that foreign nationals living in GCC nations are qualified to apply for a tourist visa and perform Umrah, regardless of their line of work.
