Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that a royal decree has been issued to grant Saudi citizenship to a select group of scientists, researchers, innovators, and distinguished individuals across various fields.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the decree includes granting citizenship to some scientists, doctors, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and outstanding individuals with rare specialties and expertise.

According to SPA, the royal approval aligns with a previous decree aimed at granting Saudi citizenship to talented individuals in legal, medical, scientific, cultural, sports, and technical fields.

This initiative is part of the Vision 2030 plan, which seeks to create an attractive environment to invest in human capital and attract exceptional talents and innovators.

The statement emphasized that this initiative continues Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to attract top talents and rare specialists whose fields contribute significantly to the country's economic, health, cultural, sports, and innovation development.

A similar royal decree was issued in 2021, granting citizenship to several distinguished professionals.
