Samir Ghanem Goes Viral after "Look-Alike” Photo Discovered on Twitter

Celebrities come across their lookalikes all the time and it’s not uncommon, however, prominent Egyptian actor Samir Ghanem reached a higher level.

Twitter users flooded the social platform with messages about Ghanem after a graphic illustration of him was discovered on "Dribbble" Twitter account.

It was created by global designer Rokas Aleliunas, who posted it under the title "casual hipster, cool mustache", on September 1.

Many fans remarked about the design in the comments, saying that it looked like the prominent actor.

Aleliunas also commented about the design, saying: I think every country has a famous hip guy similar to the one in the poster.”

The hashtag ranked no. 3 on Egypt's Twitter trending list.

The prominent actor’s latest artistic work was 2019 TV series “Badel el hadota 3” (Three stories instead of one), which has scored a high rating at viewership during the holy month of Ramadan.

The TV series co-starring Donia Samir Ghanem, Shimaa Seif, Mohamed Sallam, Islam Ibrahim, Mohamed Otaka, and others.

Ghanem, born on January 15, 1937, graduated from the faculty of agriculture in 1967.

He became friends with George Seydhom and al-Deyf Ahmed and the three formed “Adwaa al-Masrah” (Theater Lights), which was a singing and acting troupe.

They presented the first-ever TV show Ramadan Riddles. After El Deif Ahmed's death in 1970, Ghanem and Sidhom continued under the same name (Tholathy Adwa'a El Masrah) until the 1980s.

The Egyptian actor had outstanding stage performances in the productions “Tabeekh al-Malayka” (Angelic Cuisine), “Romeo wa Juliet” (Romeo and Juliet), and others.

He also had an outstanding performance in “Fawazir Ramadan” – Ramadan Trivia Shows – where he assumed the character Fatouta.

Among his most successful television performances was his role in “Hekayat Captain Mizo” (The Tales of Captain Mizo).

The Egyptian actor is considered among the most talented, spontaneous and resourceful comedic actors in the Middle East.
