Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry stressed the importance of ending the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza.
He explained that Egypt is seeking to conclude a prisoner exchange deal and succeeded in the previous truce in releasing several detainees inside Gaza.
Shokry said in a joint press conference with his British counterpart David Cameron, that Egypt working on reaching the deal and fixing the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
He added that Israel is an occupying force in the Palestinian territories and that there are UN resolutions that must be implemented to end this occupation.
The Minister stressed the importance of Israel and the international community activating the two-state solution for the region to stabilize in the coming period.
In turn, Cameron stressed the necessity of activating the two-state solution and noted what happened recently confirms the difficulty of achieving the result.
He also expressed his rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and Israel's occupation of the Strip, calling for reforming the structure of the Palestinian National Authority and adopting action.
