MedFest Egypt will honor Jordanian actress/producer Saba Mubarak, in celebration of her artistic career, in the sixth Forum, scheduled to take place September 12-15, at the AUC, in Tahrir Square.
MedFest Forum founder and director, Mina El-Naggar, stated, "We are glad to honor Jordanian actress and producer Saba Mubarak with the Forum Award, which is annually granted to iconic cinematic figures who contribute to the development of cinema. Saba is a Jordanian actress with a successful career in cinema, television, and theater across the Arab world,".
El-Naggar added, "She is a unique actress. Through her talent, she succeeded in reflecting the feelings of audiences when it comes to the roles that she carefully chooses. She entered the hearts of the Arab world audiences, especially Egyptian ones, through the characters she embodied. She also highlighted several concepts, especially "relationships," which is the main theme of this year's Forum,".
Mubarak added, “I am happy with this honor from the Midfest Egypt Festival. I have an additional reason for happiness, which is that this honoring is from a festival that dedicates itself to integrating the world of filmmaking and social issues from a different perspective, and it is an initiative that we need in our Arab societies, which I always seek to pay attention to it in my works,".
The festival's programming team members, Nadine Emile and Ahmed Nabil, stressed that there is always a specific theme for each edition with regard to the participating films.
"Relationships" is the main theme of this year's competition.
They added, "Human relationships are rich and complex. Hence, it is hard to tackle human relationships in all their kinds, deal with them, or delve into them. Through cinema, one can identify the details of these relationships and examine them on screen. "

"MedFest Egypt" is an international forum for short films. It is the first of its kind in the Arab world, for it aims at highlighting health and social issues in carefully-selected international short films, followed by discussions on the film's theme and perspective from the audience's point of view.
The festival also holds panel discussions and symposiums related to health and films through a specific program over the year.
