Russia has extended the ban on the entry of trucks from the European Union, Britain, Norway, and Ukraine into Russia.

According to a statement published by the Russian Cabinet on its Telegram account, "The ban will remain in effect until the conditions that led to its imposition are addressed."

The statement clarified that there would be exceptions, as before, including transportation related to mail, diplomatic pouches, and humanitarian aid. It further noted, "There will be no restrictions on the passage of technical support trucks to transport equipment and sports cars to sports events."

Relations between Moscow and Western capitals have deteriorated to their lowest levels due to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022.

Several Western countries imposed unprecedented sanctions on Russia and provided financial and military support to the Kyiv government.

The Western nations imposed extensive sanctions on Russia, targeting its financial and economic sectors, among others, to pressure Russia to halt its special military operation in Ukraine.

However, Moscow has repeatedly stated that its military operation will not cease until all its assigned objectives are achieved, and that the policy of containing Russia through sanctions has failed.
