The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its fleet, led by the missile cruiser Varyag from the Pacific Fleet, has arrived in Iran to participate in the exercises named "Maritime Security Belt 2024."

These exercises, which will also see the involvement of China, are scheduled to take place in the strategic waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

The drills are designed to enhance the safety of maritime economic activities in the region.

Furthermore, the exercises will be observed by representatives from the naval forces of Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Oman, India, and South Africa, highlighting the international interest in this event.

The Chinese Ministry of Defense confirmed its participation by sending two guided-missile ships and a supply vessel to the joint drills.

Scheduled from March 11 to 15, these exercises aim to reinforce regional maritime security, demonstrating the commitment of Russia, China, and Iran to safeguarding their interests and promoting stability in the strategic waterways of the Gulf of Oman and beyond.
