Reuven Rivilin, Israel’s President has urged Beni Gantz, Chairman of Blue and White political party not to form a new government depending on the support of the Arab members in the Knesset (the Israeli parliament).
Sources that attended meetings, held in residence of the Israeli president in the western part of Jerusalem, said that Rivilin doesn’t object to the outer Arab support to the coming government but he is afraid that a minority government in Israel won’t able to fix dissents in the Israeli society.
Rivilin requested Gantz, former Chief Of Staff of the Israeli army, to form a wider government joining the Likud party led by the current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
It is worth mentioning that the last election in Israel, held in September narrowed the gap between the Likud and Blue and White party, meanwhile the Arab Joint List came third among the winning parties of the election.

Reports revealed that either the Israeli president or Gantz declined to comment on statements traded in the local Israeli media outlets.
However, it is expected that Gantz will not seek the support of the Arab members in the Knesset after Rivilin's objections .
The Israeli President commissioned Gantz to form new government as Netanyahu failed to form one weeks earlier. He couldn’t safeguard a majority on the Knesset members to support.
Negotiations between Blue and White party ended without a fruitful outcome.
The pro-right and religious parties insist on negotiating as one bloc to join any national unity government in Israel.

But Gantz refused those suggestions and begged the president to allow him to talk to those parties inpidually.
Also Gantz is reluctant to sit in a government led by Netanyahu who underwent wide criminal investigation for charges of corruption usurping authorities for personal ends.
The Israeli President has suggested that Netanyahu and Gantz can chair the government for half a term to find a solution to the political dilemma in Israel.
