Remembering Alaa Waley El Din on His 20th Death Anniv.

Today marks the 20th birth anniversary of Alaa Waley El-Din, best known for playing Salah Ibn El-Nazer role in the 2000 film "El-Nazer".

To commemorate his 20th death anniversary, El-Hangar Cinema Theatre at the Cairo Opera House will screen "El Nazer" and hold cultural secessions chaired by renowned artists and directors.

There will also be a display of movie posters from the early days of his acting career to engage his fans and share his extensive entertainment work with the public.

Born in 1963 in Egypt, he earned his degree from the Faculty of Commerce, in 1985.

Throughout his career, the late actor featured in more than 140 films with roles ranging from television and film production.

El-Din made his breakthrough with his roles in the hit film "Aboud Ala El Hedoud", in which he played the role of a fat soldier.

Among his seminal works, are 'Rehlat Faraj W Ghareeb', 'Resala  Alwaly', Terrorism and the Kebab (1992), 'Ibn Ezz', and Kashf El Mastoor.

He is known for his collaborations with Hassan Hosny, Dina, Enaam Salosa, Mahmoud Azab, Ahmed Mekky, and others.

His father was Samir Waley el-Din who starred on stage with prominent actor Adel Imam in the 1970 comedy play “Shahed Mashafsh Haga”.

The actor passed away at the peak of his artistic success, on February 11, 2003, aged 40. He passed away on the first day of Eid al-Adha after struggling with diabetes.
