Barcelona announced that the Brazilian midfielder Rafinha would join Celta Vigo on a season-long loan on Monday.
The 26-year-old renewed his contract with the Blaugrana until the 2020-21 season before moving to Vigo.
"Barça and Celta Vigo have come to an agreement whereas Rafinha will play at Celta on loan for the 2019/20 season," the Spanish club said in a statement.
Rafinha joined Barca in 2006 and he made his first appearance with the Spanish League champions in the 2010-11 season.
The Brazilian international guided his team to win eleven La Liga's titles during his period at Camp Nou. He made a ninety-one appearance with Barca, scoring twelve goals.
Barcelona, who won the 2018-20 La Liga, made the worst start to the 2019-20 season by suffering a shock defeat by Athletic Bilbao 0-1 in the opening game of the Spanish League.
Barca demolished Real Betis in the second round 5-2, before holding a 2-2 draw with Osasuna.
It is worth mentioning that Champions Barcelona kicked-off their defending campaign in the Spanish League without Lionel Messi.
The Argentina captain suffered on Monday, August 5 a right calf injury during the Barca training session. The Spanish club released a statement confirming his injury later that day.
Barcelona were pooled in Group F in the UEFA Champions League alongside Borussia Dortmund. Inter Milan, and Slavia Prague
