The pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx were lit up blue as part of Human Rights Day celebrations.
Ashraf Mohy, Director General of the Antiquities of the Giza Plateau noted that the celebration of Human Rights is celebrated every year on December 10, the day on which the United Nations General Assembly, in 1948, adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a landmark document that declares inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to enjoy as a human being, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, or language.
