Elon Musk agreed with a statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the grave mistake made by the United States by using the dollar as an instrument in its sanctions.
The American billionaire said in a post on “X”, Friday: “We have exaggerated in using the dollar as a weapon. It was a stupid move.”
Musk's post came after the broadcast of Russian President Vladimir Putin's interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, during which Putin indicated that the United States' use of the dollar as a tool in foreign political confrontation is one of Washington's biggest mistakes.
Countries around the world are seeking to reduce their dependence on the US currency in light of Washington’s sanctions policy and the US public debt reaching an astronomical level.
