Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, where he will participate in the international forum on “The Interconnectedness of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development,” and will meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Russian TASS news agency reported that the leaders of more than 10 countries are expected to attend the forum, as well as the heads of international organizations, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Turkic States Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the United Nations for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO).
Russian Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov announced that Putin plans to discuss bilateral issues and the escalating situation in the Middle East during the meeting with Pezeshkian.
He added that it is also possible to hold other bilateral contacts on the sidelines of the forum.
