Paris Saint-Germain have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Barcelona attacking midfielder Pedro “Dro” Fernandez, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The 18-year-old is expected to leave Barcelona in the coming days amid a contractual impasse.
Although Dro remains under contract with the Catalan club until 2027, his current release clause has dropped to just €6 million, making an immediate departure increasingly likely.
Romano reports that PSG have already submitted a formal contract proposal to the highly rated youngster.
The deal is being closely overseen by head coach Luis Enrique, whose involvement is seen as significant given that his agent, Ivan de la Peña, also represents Dro Fernandez.
A verbal agreement between the player and the French champions is said to be close, which would see Dro become PSG’s first signing of the winter transfer window.
Considering the midfielder’s potential and modest release clause, the move would be viewed as a major coup for the reigning Champions League winners.
