Prof. Kazem Kazerounian: Overthrowing Velayat-e Faqih Regime Depends on Iranian Resistance Seizing Control of IRGC HQ, Command Centers

Professor Kazem Kazerounian, a professor at the University of Connecticut, stated today that the decisive solution to end decades of tyranny in Iran and rid the region of terrorism lies within Iran—specifically through organized resistance forces taking control of the regime's strategic locations and command centers.

In a strategic interview with One America News (OAN), Kazerounian said: "The current escalation and the devastating external strikes hitting the Velayat-e Faqih regime—within the new reality imposed by the death of the executioner Khamenei and his son Mojtaba's desperate struggle to maintain the pillars of power—confirm that the regime has reached its inevitable end. However, the true resolution will only be achieved by the hands of the Iranian people and their organized resistance."

He added: "No military operations or external pressures can be considered a complete success until the Resistance Units and the field forces of the Iranian Resistance take full control of the main palaces, headquarters of the Mullahs' IRGC, and military and security units in Tehran and all Iranian cities."

Kazerounian continued: "While international powers avoid ground intervention—which is a positive development—the Iranian Resistance, which has been fighting this regime for 47 years, emerges as a vital and essential element; indeed, it is the most important element in this strategic battle. The Resistance Units within the country are the force capable of breaking the machinery of suppression and securing the centers of power in preparation for the desired democratic change."

He explained: "The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), with its clear program and leadership structure, is the only legitimate group capable of filling the vacuum and managing the transitional phase. Without these national forces seizing the regime's headquarters, a realistic scenario for the fall of the Mullahs' regime and the establishment of peace cannot be imagined."

Kazerounian emphasized: "Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s announcement regarding the formation of the Provisional Government based on the 10-point plan represents the only guarantee for transferring sovereignty to the Iranian people in a democratic and organized manner. This plan is what will end a century of dictatorship—whether the Shah’s dictatorship or the Velayat-e Faqih regime—and establish a democratic, peaceful, and non-nuclear republic."

Kazerounian concluded his statement by saying: "The world must realize that the democratic alternative is ready and present on the ground. The Resistance Units are the ones who will write the final word in the book of this brutal regime's downfall, as Iran begins a new chapter of freedom and justice under the umbrella of the Provisional Government, which enjoys international support and broad popular legitimacy."
