President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, held in Kazan, Russia.
The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic said that the two presidents stressed interest in improving bilateral relations between the two countries to be an example of what can be accomplished at the continental level, to strengthen and diversify cooperation frameworks at the various political, economic, and security levels in a way that reflects the strong historical relations that bring together the two brotherly countries.
The meeting also discussed the regional situation, where the efforts of Egypt and South Africa towards supporting the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people were reviewed, and the two presidents stressed the continuation of consultation and cooperation in this regard at all levels with the aim of reaching calm in the region and a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
