President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Armenia in January 2023 marked a historic moment as he became the first Egyptian leader to visit the nation since its independence.

This visit, highlighted by Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, the Presidential Spokesman, signifies a significant step forward in the diplomatic and cooperative relations between Egypt and Armenia.

During an interview on CBC channel's "In the Evening with Quswa," hosted by Quswa Al-Khalali, Fahmy elaborated on the visit's impact, noting that it led to a reciprocal visit by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Egypt. This exchange is part of a broader strategy by President El-Sisi to extend Egypt's international outreach, including pioneering visits to countries like Belarus, Azerbaijan, Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda, and others, many of which hadn't hosted an Egyptian president in decades, if ever.

Fahmy emphasized that the visit to Armenia showcased the effectiveness of Egypt's high-level diplomacy, which has yielded concrete results in enhancing economic, investment, and trade relations. The visit saw the signing of several memorandums across various sectors, including the environment, agriculture, and economic cooperation, underscoring the multifaceted nature of the burgeoning partnership.

Highlighting Egypt's stature on the global stage, Fahmy affirmed the nation's strong, stable, and balanced approach to international relations. He stressed that Egypt's historical, geographical, and cultural heft, coupled with strategic presidential diplomacy, has been instrumental in converting its influence into tangible political, investment, and developmental gains for both the country and its citizens.
