Pope Tawadros II will head the Christmas Mass at the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in the New Administrative Capital on January 6.
The media centre of the Coptic Church announced the preparations for the huge mass at the cathedral on the occasion of Christmas.
The Pope will receive guests and Christmas wishes at the headquarter of the Coptic Church in Cairo on January 7.
The prayer will be streamed on different national and private TV channels on Friday.
It is worth mentioning that the cathedral was opened on January 6, 2019.
It is considered the largest cathedral in the Middle East. It is located on an area of 15 acres, equivalent to 63 thousand square meters, and can accommodate more than 8 thousand people.
The Cathedral Church contains a two-story underground garage and a service building.
It contains the main square, in addition to the Pontifical headquarters building, a reception hall, a meeting hall, and administrative offices.
The cathedral comprises a museum for the history of the Coptic Church and a meeting room.
There are two lighthouses designed for the cathedral. The lighthouse was designed according to Coptic architecture and contains several bells at the top of the lighthouse.
