Planning Submits to HoR 5 Strategies for Transition Towards “Green Economy”

The Egyptian government is exerting more efforts every year to transit the country towards the green economy."

It allots billions of pounds in all fields every fiscal year to achieve this target.

The government increases those allocations year after year.

In the fiscal year 20/21, the government directed about 15% of the year’s budget and the state’s investment plan for green projects, while the ratio doubled in the following year 21/22 to 30%.

Also, the government aims, in the current year’s budget 22/23, to direct about 40%, raising the slogan “transforming the state’s investment plan towards a green economy.”

According to the report issued by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on the state’s investment plan for the current fiscal year 2022/2023 submitted to the House of Representatives Plan and Budget Committee, Egypt has launched many green strategies, foremost of which is the Climate Change Strategy 2050, which is approaching a date the upcoming summit is being held in Egypt, “COP 27” next November.
