Archaeologist Dr. Hussein Basir said on Friday that glass was an important and famous material in ancient Egypt.

" King Thutmose III was one of the most ancient Egyptian kings, who brought a distinctive glass from Ancient Near East countries, especially Syria," Basir said.

"He was followed by Amenhotep III, who was also known as Louis XIV in ancient Egypt," the Egyptian archaeologist added.

King Tutankhamun brought a yellow glass from a desert to put it in his cemetery. His Tomb was later discovered by British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter in November 1923.

The ancient Egyptians are well- known of manufacturing all kinds of glass made of sand.

King Tutankhamun's collection is full of many precious stones, jewels and stained glass that still dazzle the world with its beauty and distinction, including Tutankhamun's breastplate. Egyptians got raw materials to make the yellow glass from Egypt and Libya desert.

The glass appeared in the treasures of the King "Tutankhamun" and other monuments of the modern state, which shows the accuracy of the old Egyptian artist.
