Petroleum Minister: Partnership with EU Opens Way for More Investments

The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum held a round table under the title "The Growing Role of the Eastern Mediterranean in Securing Sources of Energy Supplies and Promoting Decarbonization Efforts."

During his speech, Tarek El-Moll a, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, stressed that investing in gas infrastructure, whether pipelines or liquefaction stations need guarantees and assurances of the ability to implement these projects that require huge investments and to ensure the marketing of their products in the future. He added that governments must realize the importance of these observations and indeed this is being worked on under the umbrella of the Forum.

Speakers at the conference affirmed the importance of coordination between all parties and financing institutions to provide the necessary financial needs to implement gas infrastructure projects, decarbonization, and hydrogen production, and work to achieve a balance towards energy transition to ensure energy supply.
