Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has confirmed the completion of its preparations to ensure a steady supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and butane natural gas during the holy month of Ramadan, when consumption typically rises.
In an official statement, the ministry announced that market availability of LPG cylinders will exceed one million units per day, as part of ongoing measures to secure this vital commodity year-round. Authorities emphasized that distribution levels are being closely monitored to match geographic and seasonal variations in demand.
The ministry said all nine PetroGas factories will operate on a three-shift system during Ramadan, following the completion of maintenance work on production lines. In addition, private-sector filling stations, totaling 37 facilities, will help boost supply.
More than 3,000 distribution depots nationwide will ensure timely delivery of LPG cylinders, with continuous oversight by the Central Committee for Monitoring Petroleum Products, in coordination with local authorities and market inspectors.
The LPG transport fleet, managed in coordination with Al-Siham Petroleum Company, has been readied with strict safety and security protocols to guarantee safe delivery to consumers. Extra allocations of 25-kilogram commercial cylinders have been earmarked for selected governorates through Butagasco.
PetroGas will track consumption trends in coordination with local supply directorates to respond to urgent needs. Reserve cylinders and delivery vehicles are ready for immediate deployment to areas of high demand.
For natural gas, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company has reinforced networks, upgraded pressure stations, and completed pre-Ramadan maintenance to secure supply for households and businesses during peak consumption.
Emergency response teams are on standby 24/7, with field deployments and patrols ensuring network integrity and monitoring pressure levels across stations.
