US Vice President Mike Pence thanked on Wednesday more than 60 million Americans who voted for incumbent President Donald Trump to win a second presidential term.
Addressing the press conference held at the White House, Pence said, "We are on the road to victory, and we will make America great again."
"I think we have already won the elections," he added.
"The right to vote has been at the centre of our democracy since the founding of this nation and we're going to protect the integrity of this vote," Pence continued.
It is worth mentioning, US President Donald Trump thanked the American people on Wednesday for voting in the US Elections and said he will not be silent towards some attempts to hijack the elections.
The US president added during a speech at the White House, “Tonight’s results are wonderful and impressive, and we are preparing to celebrate.”
“We have won unpredicted states,” he said.
Trump is competing in the US elections for the Republican Party, hoping to win a second presidential term, while Joe Biden, former US Vice President Barack Obama, represents the Democratic Party in that election.
