Palestinian Activist Mona El-Kurd Arrested

Israeli troops arrested trending Palestinian activist Mona El Kurd, her family announced on Sunday.

Shortly, a video depicting the Israeli troops while arresting the activist, and taking her from her family's home went viral on social media.

In addition, another video for Israeli officers and settlers near the backyard of El Kurd's home was taken by the activist hours before the action of the arrest. It was posted by her brother, Mohammed El-Kurd on Twitter.

The brother wasn't home during his sister's arrest but he was informed to present himself to the authorities for questioning.

Zakaria Odeh, co-ordinator of the Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem said that the family wasn't able to contact their daughter, in addition, the motive behind the arrest is still unclear, the National website cited.

El-Kurd family is one of Sheikh Jarrah's residents who rejected abandoning the home, in addition, the family refuted the Israeli settlers claims of owning the land where the home established since 1875.
