Palestine has welcomed the Biden Administration's decision of sending $15 million on Thursday to aid the medical institutions in Gaza and the West Bank amid the third Coronavirus wave.
The Palestinean Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh described the decision as a step on the road for re-establishing the mutual relations with the American side.
The American-Palestinean ties have been impacted negatively in the presence of former President Donald Trump.
Estimated at $15 million, this aid will be provided by the US Agency for International Development to the Catholic Relief Services to support the medical and social organizations in Palestine, alongside contributing to solving the crisis of food security.
In the same context, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the US Ambassador to the United Nations commented on the decision saying: “This urgent, necessary aid is one piece of our renewed commitment to the Palestinian people. The aid will help Palestinians in dire need, which will bring more stability and security to both Israelis and Palestinians alike.”
