Pakistan and Australia have pledged to enhance bilateral cooperation in defense and security to ensure peace at both regional and global levels.

This commitment was made during a high-level meeting between Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, and Australian Army Chief, Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, at the Pakistan Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi, near the capital Islamabad, according to Pakistan’s Sama TV on Monday.

The Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release that the two army chiefs discussed several strategic issues, giving special attention to defense and security relations between the two countries.

The Australian Army Chief expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s current efforts to combat terrorism and the significant role it plays in achieving regional peace.

In return, the Pakistani Army Chief emphasized the importance of strong cooperation between the two countries, noting that his army has played a vital role in combating terrorism at both local and international levels.
