Pakistan is positioning itself to join the BRICS alliance in the near future, according to government officials.

The country's leadership has submitted a formal request for inclusion and remains hopeful that its entry will be approved soon, recognizing BRICS as a vital platform for major global economies.

As part of its evolving foreign policy, Pakistan is also navigating its energy needs by strengthening ties with Russia. Officials highlighted that the country is keen to purchase Russian crude oil at favorable prices to mitigate the economic challenges facing its population.

National security remains a priority, and Pakistan is carefully considering its approach to expanding trade relations with Russia, mindful of international sanctions but focused on securing affordable energy resources.

In another development, Pakistan expressed support for Russia’s anticipated decision to remove the Taliban from its list of terrorist organizations, reflecting a growing recognition of the Taliban’s current role as the governing authority in Afghanistan.

Islamabad sees this shift as an opportunity for deeper diplomatic engagement in the region.

With these strategic moves, Pakistan is not only aiming to join BRICS but also enhancing its global alliances, underscoring its commitment to economic growth and regional stability.
