OPEC meetings are often delayed and its celebrations for the 60th anniversary are no exception: it takes place now almost two years late, according to BNN Bloomberg.
"In Baghdad - where the bloc was founded in 1960 - the Petroleum Exporting Countries Organization is postponing the festivities to the first quarter of the coming year," delegates said. It was planned for 30 Sept.
The ceremony has been postponed, as well as a conference in the United Arab Emirates, in order to avoid clashes between the elections in Iraq.
Nevertheless, the re-organisation will not affect the group and its allies' next policy meeting on October 1.
