Veteran Egyptian composer Omar Khairat concluded the 32nd edition of the Citadel Festival for Music and Singing on Wednesday night.
He presented several of his masterpieces such as "El Assefa", "Khali Balak Men Aklak", "Eldaia", "Al-Khawaga Abdul-Qader", "Saber Ya Am Saber", "Mafia", "Al Bakhel Wi Ana", "100 Sana Cinema", "Qadeyat Am Ahmad", and "Fiha Haga Helwa".
The Citadel Festival for Music and Singing ran from August 15 to 28 at the historic Citadel of Salah Al-Din and featured To-notch performances by Carmen Soliman, Hamza Namira, Ehab Tawfik, Hany Shaker, and more.

Khairat was born on November 11, 1948, in the Al Sayeda Zainab neighborhood in Cairo to a family that loved the arts and the piano.
He studied music at the Conservatoire, which was founded by his uncle, and began studying piano in 1959 at the hands of the Italian Professor Caro, and then he studied music composition in London.
Khairat is considered one of the most outstanding composers in the world. He was a member of the Egyptian rock band Les Petits Chats, which was founded in 1967.
The band was immensely popular in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. They presented songs in Italian, French, and English.
Khairat was a drummer for the Egyptian rock band Les Petits Chats until 1971.
