Real Madrid announced today the appointment of Álvaro Arbeloa as the first-team manager, succeeding Xabi Alonso, who resigned unexpectedly following the defeat to Barcelona in El Clásico during the Spanish Super Cup.
Real Madrid announced in an official statement that Álvaro Arbeloa will take charge of the first team, following a distinguished coaching career within the club. He has been the manager of Castilla since June 2025 and has worked with various youth teams at the Real Madrid Academy since 2020.
Arbeloa led the Infantil (A) team in the 2020-2021 season, winning the league title, before taking over the Cadete (A) team in the 2021-2022 season. He then managed the Juvenil (A) team from 2022 to 2025, achieving notable successes, most notably winning the historic treble in the 2022-2023 season (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Youth League), in addition to winning the league title in the 2024-2025 season.
