Nigeria snatched the third place rank in this year's African Cup of Nations from Tunisia after beating the 1-0 on Wednesday at El-Salam Stadium. The Tunisians put up a great match and had most of the possession, but ironically failed to forge these chances into goals.

Nigeria scored the only goal of the match in the 3rd minute after Ighalo made best use of a miss communication between the Tunisian defense and goalkeeper Ben Cherifa, striking it into the empty goals of the eagles.

From then on Tunisia attempted several chances on goal and maintained possession in the midfield but still failed to form any real danger to the Nigerian defense until the first half was finished,

Tunisia had a real good chance to equalize in the 48th minute after Khenesi faced a one on one with the keeper, but failed to place it into goal and shot it in the far left side of the goal.

From then on both teams got involved in an attacking tug of war, until the final whistle was issued and the match came to a close.
