Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta has announced its readiness to host its first international symposium, titled "The Role of Fatwas in Achieving Intellectual Security," in conjunction with World Fatwa Day on December 15.
Scheduled for December 15-16 at Al-Azhar Conference Hall, the event will bring together muftis, scholars from across the globe, and esteemed professors from Al-Azhar. The symposium aims to underscore the critical role of fatwas in fostering intellectual security and addressing modern challenges.
Dr. Ibrahim Negm, Secretary General of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, highlighted its objectives, which include combating irresponsible and arbitrary fatwas, strengthening global cooperation among fatwa institutions, and proposing practical recommendations to refine fatwa methodologies in support of stability and sustainable development.
