The Netherlands has announced a €400 million investment to design drones for Ukraine as part of its ongoing support.

The announcement was made by Dutch Defense Minister Robbert Brekelmans during his visit to Ukraine on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Dutch Ministry of Defense, the Netherlands will take a leading role in assisting Ukraine by allocating a significant sum as part of a joint plan to develop and accelerate the production of drones that have already proven effective.

The Netherlands and Ukraine will work together to design and enhance these drones, which are expected to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

The announcement is part of the Netherlands' broader commitment to aid Ukraine, which has been severely impacted by the ongoing conflict with Russia.

The Dutch government has previously provided Ukraine with hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, air defense units, and more than 500 drones.

In addition to drones, the Netherlands has also supplied Ukraine with infantry weapons and various types of ammunition.

In a further show of support, the Netherlands has committed to delivering 24 U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine’s armed forces.

The Dutch government confirmed that the first batch of these jets has already been delivered, with the full transfer expected to be completed in the coming months.
