The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NEMC) in Cairo hosted on Sunday an art exhibition for children, entitled "Art Exhibition for School Students on Climate Change".

In cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry of Education (MOE) organized the exhibition which showcased children's incredible understanding of global issues along with an aptitude for forward-thinking ideas aimed at creating a better world for everyone.

The exhibition, with the theme “A Message from Egyptian Children to the World”, was inaugurated by Dr. Reda Hegazy, the Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Yasmine Fouad, the Minister of Environment and Dr. Nevine El-Kilany, the Minister of Culture and Mr. Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt.

Inspired by the hardships of global warming and climate change, a number of children aged between 5-16 participated in the exhibition with portraits, using oil, and water colors.

The exhibition displayed 200 Climate Change art pieces drawn by students who won the “National Art Competition on Climate Change” in public schools in Egypt which engaged 1700 students from different provenances.

According to UNICEF, the idea behind this art exhibition is to raise awareness on climate change across the country.

Through the competition, UNICEF and MOE have helped the Egyptian children share their views with the rest of the world on environmental and climate issues in their own way.
