The Nasser International Forum announced in a statement that Latin American participation in fifth cohort of the Nasser Fellowship for International Leadership has set a record, making it the largest in the history of youth activities.
A total of 42 young men and women, representing 14 countries across the continent, applied for the fellowship, marking the largest Latin American participation since the fellowship's launch.
This remarkable turnout confirms the fellowship's growing international recognition and reflects Latin American youth's confidence in Egypt's pivotal role in supporting and empowering young leaders from around the world.
Anthropologist Hassan Ghazali, founder of the Nasser International Forum, stated that the fifth batch witnessed unprecedented interest from Latin American countries, adding that participants from 11 countries were selected after passing the evaluation stages, reflecting the outstanding level of young Latin American talent in terms of competence, ambition, and desire to engage in capacity-building programs and enhance leadership roles.
He pointed out that this Latin American engagement represents a qualitative addition to the fellowship and enhances Egypt's position as a regional and global platform that attracts young talent and contributes to preparing them to be leaders of positive change in their communities.
He pointed out that this momentum also reflects the growing confidence in Egypt's role in promoting youth diplomacy and deepening partnerships with countries of the South within the framework of its vision for sustainable development and international cooperation.
The founder of the Nasser International Forum added that this participation is expected to contribute to strengthening cooperation between peoples and consolidating the concepts of regional and international solidarity and integration, thus serving the grant's goals of preparing young leaders capable of making a real impact in their societies. This widespread turnout from Latin America is clear evidence of the growing confidence in Egypt's youth diplomacy, which has become an influential platform for international dialogue and change-making through youth.
It is worth noting that the fifth edition of the Nasser International Leadership Fellowship will be held in the coming days of May under the theme "Egypt and the United Nations: 80 Years Representing the Issues of the Global South". The event is held under the generous patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the participation of approximately 150 young men and women, including youth leaders from around the world.
