Former Portugal and Manchester United winger Nani announced his retirement from professional football on Sunday.

Nani won four English Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester United.

The 38-year-old began his career at Sporting CP before moving to the legendary Manchester United. He was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2007.

He left the club in 2015, and moved to Fenerbahçe on a permanent deal.

Nani played for 10 clubs in his 19-year career. His final club was Estrela Amadora, the team from the place where he was born.

Nani said in a statement:"As everyone knows, everything comes to an end," Nani said in a statement.

"I've taken the time to make a very important decision. Perhaps the most important decision of my professional life, which is the decision to stop playing as a professional player. I'm going to, as they say, hang up my boots. But I do so with a sense of duty fulfilled.

"I believe it was a beautiful career, a career filled with many achievements."
