Zamalek have confirmed that star man Mostafa Mohamed will move to French club AS Saint-Étienne in the upcoming hours.

Mostafa Mohamed has been the main talk of Egyptian media for the past weeks as he’s been linked with a move abroad.

Turkey’s Galatasaray, Sporting Braga of Portugal, and Spanish club Rayo Vallecano have all expressed their desire to sign the forward, but French club Saint-Étienne are believed to be his preferred destination.

The Ligue 1 outfit became the closest team to sign him after submitting several official offers to sign the 23-year-old, which were all rejected, but it looks like the two teams have reached an agreement finally.

Zamalek’s spokesman Essam Salem has revealed that we could see Mostafa Mohamed in France in the upcoming few hours as he is closing on a move to Saint-Étienne.

“Within hours, the fate of Mostafa Mohamed will be decided,” Salem said on Sunday morning.

“He is expected to play soccer abroad."

“Only a few steps away from Mostafa Mohamed’s transfer to AS Saint-Étienne,” he added.

Saint-Étienne have 10 Ligue 1 titles to their name, more than any other club, and have won Coupe de France six times and the Coupe de la Ligue in 2013, their last official trophy.

They are managed by ex-Southampton and Leicester City manager Claude Puel and currently sit 16th on the Ligue 1 table.
