Former Chairman of Zamalek SC Mortada Mansour affirmed that the departure of "The Lion" as well as Ahmed Mortada and Amir Mortada caused the team's collapse.

Zamalek bid farewell to the Egypt Cup after losing to Tala'a Al Gaish 3-1 in the semi-final encounter, days after losing the CAF Champions League title to Al Ahly by losing 2-1 in the final match held at Cairo Stadium.

Mansour told YallaKora website: "Zamalek lost to Tala'a Al Gaish because of the players' feeling of frustration and lack of safety after the decision taken to dissolve the White Knights' board of directors, which provided them with all their needs."

"There are some people who do not admit that the departure of "The Lion", Mr. Ahmed Mortada, and Mr. Amir Mortada caused the team to breakdown."

The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports had announced the suspension of the Zamalek board of directors headed by Mortada Mansour days ago, referred all of the violations found in the club to the Public Prosecutor and appointed a temporary committee to manage the club's affairs during the transitional period.
