In a joint operation, Spanish police announced on Saturday the successful dismantling of a network aiding in the planning and financing of ISIS activities.

The operation, conducted in collaboration with Morocco's General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), resulted in the arrest of five individuals in the provinces of Valencia, Caceres, Alicante, and Gipuzkoa, as detailed in a press release from Spanish police.

According to the statement, the network was involved in collecting funds derived from crimes committed in Europe to finance terrorist activities.

The arrested individuals were found to be moving significant sums of money through cryptocurrencies and international shipments.

The search operation led to the seizure of nearly 200,000 euros (MAD 2.2 million).

Furthermore, it was revealed that some members of the dismantled network were engaged in attempts to indoctrinate individuals into extremist ideologies, pledging support for those who contemplated carrying out terrorist attacks.

The investigation, spanning two years, concluded that the group had been actively involved in planning at least two attacks, which were successfully neutralized.

The statement emphasized the significance of international cooperation in neutralizing terrorist threats and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing such challenges.
