Yesterday, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said during the 8th national Youth Conference, held in New Cairo, that the Egyptian army is the backbone of the state. he added that those who followed up the turmoil that erupted after 2011 incidents and before 30 June revolution can conclude that the Ministries of Defense and Interior were the target of alleged marches of millions by terrorist groups funded by external and internal parties to undermine the Egyptian army; they know that the army is the backbone of the Egyptian state and the Egyptian state is the foundation stone for the stability of the region ..
This reflects the importance of the main topic addressed during the eighth youth conference held in Al-Manara Hall yesterday. The conference focused on terrorism and how those terrorists brainwash young people via social media networks to undermine confidence in the state and leadership.
The main focus of the new terrorism is to recruit elements from the state to undermine and destabilize it. In Egypt when those “terrorists” attack a checkpoint, a church or a mosque, they are trying to destabilize Egypt by killing innocent people, but for the other side represented in the financier and the developer of all these operations, it has less costs through manufacturing a grenade or a gun that could frighten people and disturb the state.
What the president said requires us to have a look at the paralysis that hit 55 Muslim countries.. Where are they? Terrorism now is similar to cancer, the body is attacking itself. Over the past six years, as the president explained, we are handling the issue, we have incurred great losses. How much does it cost the Egyptian economy and the Egyptian army due to the war in Sinai every day?
President Sisi stressed that the Egyptian army is the real center of gravity not only in Egypt but in the whole region, adding:” If we recalled the features of the conspiracy, we will know the aim of the demonstrations, millions and plots that targeted the Ministries of Interior and Defense, over six years, to drain every Egyptian family.
During my following up to the conference, I also noticed the president's keenness and interest in free discussions on terrorism and rumor-making centers. The president was the only one who was taking notes during the conference not only due to the seriousness of the issue discussed during the session, but more importantly, it is the behavior of the president who writes down some of his remarks.
The question now is how can we raise awareness among young people?
