Antiquities Ministry is seeking to rely on the distinguished cadres of its people as well as enable them to assume various leadership positions.
As a result, Dr. Khaled El-Anani, Antiquities Minister, decided to post, Mr. Moamen Othman, who was the General Director of Restoration at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, as the museums sector head, replacing Ms. Elham Salah, who was recently appointed advisor to the Antiquities Minister for the new museums.
Mr. Othman assumed many positions within the Ministry's functional structure, starting from a restoration specialist at the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria, then Rashid National Museum, in addition the Papyrus Laboratory head in the Egyptian Museum since 2012, as well as the Organic Archeology Laboratory president at the Grand Egyptian Museum until 2015.
Also, he received an art diploma from the Arts Academy in Florence 2005, and Diploma of Tourist Guidance from Helwan University in 2007,
He studied museum science in Italy and Japan, in addition to many training courses in preserving and displaying museum pieces field, restoring, storing, displaying papyrus, murals as well as displaying manuscripts and documents inside and outside Egypt.
Othman translated some scientific books from Italian to Arabic, in addition to reviewing and preparing the scientific material for some books on theories of restoration and scientific journals on archeology and World Heritage.
Furthermore, he participated in several conferences including the Dakar Conference in Senegal 2008, Addis Ababa Conference in Ethiopia 2010, International Conference on Papyrology in 2016 and 2017, the International Conference of Pharaonic Coffins in Vatican in 2017, and the International Conference in Italy 2017, as Egypt’s representative.
