Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team and star of Liverpool FC, addressed several messages to Egyptian football fans after the thrilling 3-2 victory over Ivory Coast, securing their place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco.
Salah emphasized that qualifying was not just a fleeting victory, but rather the fruit of collective effort and an exceptional spirit prevailing within the Pharaohs' camp. He noted that the current atmosphere is the best he has ever experienced in his football career.
In a press statement, Salah said, "This is the best training camp I've ever had. Everyone is united, there's a great sense of camaraderie and lightheartedness, and the players deserve to win the tournament." He also praised the significant role played by national team coach Hossam Hassan.
The team captain stressed that the feelings of the Egyptian fans are of special value to him, stressing that making Egyptians happy is the first goal of any player who wears the national team jersey, adding: “The joy of the Egyptians is very important to me, and I am happy to qualify for the semi-finals, and I am proud of this generation of players despite the great pressure, especially through social media.”
