Former Zamalek Striker Bassem Morsy has joined Misr El-Makkasa from Entag El-Harby on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Morsy was one of the names linked up with a return to Zamalek as the Whites wanted to replace Mostafa Mohamed, who departed for Galatasaray S.K.

However, Zamalek decided to go for Misr El-Makkasa forward Marwan Hamdi and Seifeddine Jaziri of Arab Contractors on Saturday.

In order to replace Marwan Hamdi, Misr El-Makkasa have managed to reach an agreement with Entag El-Harby for Morsy as he entered his last six months of his deal with the military club.

Morsy signed a two-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him in El-Fayoum until 2023, becoming the club’s first winter signing.

The 29-year-old striker reached the peak of his career during his time with Zamalek, which saw him score 50 goals in 137 games, helping the club win the league title in 2015, three Egypt Cups, and the Egypt Super Cup.

Following his departure from the Cairo giants, Morsy had loan spells at Greek side AE Larisa and Smouha, but failed to score any goals with the two clubs in 11 games, before re-joining Entag El-Harby.

10 goals in 32 games was his record in his second spell with the military club and now he will enjoy a new adventure with Misr El-Makkasa.
