Messi Out of Barcelona's 11-Man Squad Vs. Dortmund

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been ruled out of Barcelona's eleven-man player, who will start against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.

Messi was seen on the substitute's bench of the Blaugrana as he showed up for the first time this season after he recovered from his injury which lasted for several weeks.

The Argentina captain suffered on Monday, August 5 a right calf injury during the Barca training session. The Spanish club released a statement confirming his injury later that day. The Spanish League winners kicked off the 2019-20 season without Messi as he suffered a right calf injury during on Monday, August 5.

Barca is set to kick off their adventure in the Champions League later today at Signal Iduna Park stadium. On Saturday, Barcelona demolished Valencia 5-2 in the fourth round of the Spanish League, pulling off their second victory during this season.

In August, Messi was named as the Uefa Forward of the Season for the fifth time after scoring more goals than anyone else in the competition last season.

It is worth mentioning that Barcelona were pooled in Group alongside  Borussia Dortmund. Inter Milan, and Slavia Prague
