Egyptian actress, Menna Shalaby is set to play Lebanese-Palestinian poet May Ziadeh in the TV series "Layali Al Usfuriyah".
The series is scripted by Mohamed Hisham Obeya and directed by Maryam Al-Ahmadi. It is based on Waciny Laredj's novel "May — the Nights of Isis Copia".
Principal photography is scheduled to kick off after Ramadan 2023.

Ziadeh, real name Mary Elias, was born in 1886 to a Syrian-Palestinian mother and a Lebanese father.
She was a poet, essayist, and translator, who wrote many different works both in Arabic and French as well as excelled in writing literary, critical, and social articles.
She had many aliases such as Isis Copia, Canar, and the First Marine Sinbad.
On the other hand, Shalaby is preparing to participate in Ramadan 2023 drama mathon with TV series "Alag Tabee" (Physical therapy).
The series consists of 15 episodes and is set to be filmed in Lebanon.
The plot follows the protagonist's psychological struggle.
Shalaby participated last Ramadan with TV series "Bitloo El Roh".
It also starred Elham Shahin, Ahmed El Saadany, Diamand Bou Abboud, Mohamed Hatem, Adel Karam, and others.
The series is written by Kamla Abu Zekri and directed by Mohamed Hesham Ebia.
The series marked the actress' comeback to the Ramadan marathon.
Shalaby made her last participation in the drama marathon with the 2017 TV series “Wahat Al-Ghoroub” (Sunset Oasis) starring opposite famed actor Khaled El-Nabawy.
