Egyptian actress May Elghety has recently joined the cast of the TV series "Massar Egbari".
The cast also includes Ahmed Dash, Essam Omar, Sabrien, Yasmina El Abd, Basma, Jory Bakr, and more.
It is a social thriller genre consisting of 15 episodes and hails from screenwriter Baher Dowaidar and director Nadine Khan.
"Massar Egbari" is set to screen during the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.
Elghety has been busy lately filming her upcoming project "Due Dating".
The pic marks marks Elghety's first international project and English speaking role to be released outside of the Arab world.
Elghety was born on December 8, 1998, to parents writer and TV presenters Mohamed Elghety and Mona Barouma. Her older sister Mayar Elghety also works in the showbiz.
She began her acting career as a child in the 2003 TV series "Al Shabaka Al Mashoura" (The Magical Net) and landed her first role in a feature film in the 2008 film "Captain Hima", starring Tamer Hosny and her older sister Mayar Elghety.
The child star also hosted multiple children's programs on the national Egyptian channel "Al Fadayaa Al Masrya" from 2010 to 2013.
In 2013, May was offered a lead role, Bayada, in "El Kaserat" a controversial TV series depicting the illegal act of child marriages in upper Egypt.
The performance landed her a prestigious award as Best Upcoming Actress in the Arab Drama Festival.
Her TV credits also includes "Grand Hotel", "Habiba in La totfe' Al Shams", "Tayea", "Zodiac", and others.
Elghety's film Banat Thanawy (Highschool Girls) (2020) was also a nationwide sensation ranking 3rd in the box office for multiple weeks.
In the following years May took leading roles in ensemble films such as "Ritsa" (2021) and "Amar 14" (Full Moon) (2022) that were also a success in the box office.
